Staff v Pupils Charity Badminton Match

Charity Badminton Match Congratulations to Mr Newsham and Miss Smith on their victory at the 2014 staff and pupils charity Badminton match last week. The event raised £32 in total with 16 members of staff and pupils participating. Well done to all involved!

Christmas Appeal 2014

Christmas Appeal Nearly one hundred boxes of gifts were collected today and taken to the Salvation Army on Harrington Street in Preston. An enormous effort was made by pupils from all year groups with forms working together to bring in items of food , toiletries and small gifts for those in need in our local area. Boxes were wrapped and individual messages written from each form. Fourteen representatives from the Charity Committee then went in the school minibus to deliver all the boxes and see some of the work involved at the Salvation Army centre. Spanish La Tasca Trip

Spanish Trip On Wednesday 10th December, Y10 and Y11 Spanish students visited the international Christmas market in Manchester. Following this, they ate a late lunch at the Spanish tapas restaurant La Tasca. Pupils were invited to watch, stir and finally sample traditional paella.  They also enjoyed tasting a variety of tapas such as patatas bravas, croquetas and albondigas before finally sampling the freshly cooked paella.

Extended Learning Day 2

Extended Learning Day 2 Extended Learning Day 2 of this year was on Monday 8th December. Year 7 pupils enjoyed a day creating international links with St Peter Claver Catholic High School in Tanzania. As Monday was the feast of the Immaculate Conception our Year 8 Faith & Justice Day focused on Our Lady as a role model in "Saying Yes to God." Year 9 spent the day 'Getting Real' about their future careers while Year 10 pupils took part in the Lionheart Enterprise Challenge and Year 11 pupils spent the day in Science. Year 10 Visit to Jodrell Bank Observatory

Y10 Jodrell Trip Year 10 Separate Science pupils visited Jodrell Bank Observatory on Wednesday 3rd December to enrich their GCSE Physics course. They participated in a workshop on the Electromagnetic Spectrum and a session in an inflatable Planetarium.
