Lancashire Hockey Selection

Hockey player Congratulations to one of our Year 8 pupils who was selected for the Lancashire under 13 hockey squad last weekend. Twenty girls were selected from over 50 who had trials so this is a great achievement.

Lionheart Challenge National Final

Lionheart Challenge Final Congratulations to our year 11 pupils who took part in the National final of this year's Lionheart Challenge last week at Edge Hill University. Pupils were asked to develop and conceptualise a product to prevent injury or fatalities from fire for vulnerable people. They then presented their ideas to a range of esteemed judges. The event culminated with a memorable formal dinner and prize giving ceremony where the team were awarded the prize for the Best Marketing Strategy.

2 Million Words and More

Accelerated reader This week we have one of our year 9 pupils who has read over two million words since he started the Accelerated Reader programme in September. Well Done to him and many of the other pupils who are working hard to catch him.

Kids' Lit Quiz

Kids' Lit Quiz On 17th November, eight students took part in the North West heats of the Kids' Lit Quiz. It was a fantastic evening with pupils from across the North West celebrating literature and their love of books. Pupils also met the renowned  author of 'The Reckoning', Kerry Wilkinson. Everyone had a fantastic time sharing the titles of their favourite books and competing to win a range of prizes.

PGL Liddington Trip

PGL Trip On Friday the 7th of November 44 students travelled to PGL Liddington in Swindon to participate in a weekend of Football/Netball and high rope activities. It was a fantastic weekend with lots of training, matches and giggles. The weekend culminated with the Y9 Netball team winning the tournament and having their medals presented by Sasha Corbin who currently plays WA for England. Click here to see more photos.
